Wow, 3 years since I've posted or written on here. Time flies... I've been fixing up a house while trying to get my crap in order to move out west again. That's been my major distraction from most creative endeavors. I mean, there's also emotional fluctuations, general issues trying to get anything look "right" when it's on the page, and the fog that comes with depression, but who in the both of you who might read these wants to hear that gibberty-schmutz? I'm slowly finding the things that make me feel... well, I guess like me again. I guess I also shoot myself in the foot because of my focus on using pencil and paper rather than hone skills with a wacom tablet or other forms of e-drawing(?). But I haven't let it die, is what I'm trying to sputter out while I barely edit this stream-of-consciousness bullhonk.

There's a lot of shit that went on, so I'll spare you the long version. Biggest thing: Moved back east. But I've been drawing like I haven't in far too long. When I find the damn scanner, I'll get some of the paper stuff uploaded. I'm slowly getting back to figuring out how to work my tablet. Above all, I'm just glad to get back to basics and rediscover that spark.

So I settled into my 1.5 room apartment, found some infrequent work and got some stuff drawn! I just don't have a scanner... But you know, I'm just glad to get the spark back. The BIG WEST COAST DREAMS haven't moved that much, but things are looking all right. I wish I had better work, but right now I'm not even doing that much on account of a knee injury I got at a Christmas party, so all things considered, I'm not complaining. Oh yeah, I hope you had a good new year, the three people who might read these! I really gotta get some new stuff uploaded, but my options for scanning are non-existant. I got a mouse now, so maybe I'll try to make something else on muro. My style is slowly evolving, and I want to show off some of these things, including one piece I am REALLY pleased with. Well, I'm gonna cut this off before I start rambling too much. Take care, artists and aficionados alike!

So, I lost my steam for a bit there. I've been able to get random tiny sketches down, but other than that, not much. Moving to a new place in a few days. After I get my crap moved in there, I'm just putting on my headphones and getting out the pad and paper. Hopefully some inspirado will strike. I've had some ideas, but haven't been that good at getting them to paper lately. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I've been out here about a month or so now, and I'm liking it. It's different, to say the least... While I may not have anything to scan stuff onto the computer for now, one thing I do have is a renewed vigor for getting something onto the paper and finishing it! When I get my hands on a scanner or get my tablet shipped out (I didn't want to risk damaging it on the plane ride) I have a bunch of stuff to upload. I've been working on a series of pictures of my friends done up like characters from old heavy metal album covers and a picture of a deep one that I am very pleased with. All in all, I think moving out here was good for me. As much as there are some things I wish I had done before I left, the loose ends I wish I had time to tie up, I'd drive myself batshit if I stressed about every choice I didn't make. Things are looking bright. Seriously, it barely rains out here.
